What is a domain name?

It's your business's address on the Internet. Just as a street address lets people find your shop, a domain name lets them find your website: martins-bakery.com, for example.

🌐

A website in your name

Your customers type your-company.com and land on your site, instead of a long address like “mysite.platform.com”.

✉️

A business email address

contact@your-company.com inspires far more trust than a Gmail or Hotmail address on a quote or a business card.

🔎

More visible, more credible

A clear name that reflects your brand is easier to remember and to spell out over the phone, and it helps Google link your website to your business.

🔑

It belongs to you

The domain is registered in your name for one year, renewable. Nobody else can use it as long as you keep it.

Domain vs hosting: what's the difference?

The domain name is the address; hosting is the premises where your website lives, a computer that is always on and shows it to your visitors. A website needs both to be online: our offer includes both.

Choosing it well

  • Short, easy to remember and to spell out
  • No accents or spaces (hyphens are allowed)
  • .com for an international audience, a country extension (.fr, .eu…) for a local one
  • Check the spelling: once bought, it can no longer be changed

Two simple yearly prices

No monthly subscription, no hidden fees. You pay once for 12 months.

Why Iris checks every website

A host that publishes anything ends up on blacklists, and it's the honest customers who pay the price. Before anything goes live, Iris, our AI agent, checks the archive and reads the content of the site, so that your domain stays trustworthy.

No phishingNo page imitating a bank, a government agency or a delivery company.
No dangerous codeNo programs, no hidden scripts, no cryptocurrency mining.
Consistent with your businessThe website matches the declared activity.
Lawful contentNo scams, no counterfeits, no illegal content.

Which websites can you host?

So-called “static” websites: pages ready to display, with no program running on the server.

Accepted

  • HTML pages, CSS stylesheets, JavaScript
  • Images, fonts, PDFs, short videos
  • Websites exported from a builder (Mobirise, Pinegrow, Webflow…) or generated (Astro, Hugo, Jekyll…)

  • ZIP archive of 20 MB maximum, with an index.html file

Frequently asked questions

Can I register the domain without having a website?

Yes. Your domain shows a “Coming soon” page with your business name. You send your website when it's ready, from your account: it is checked, then published automatically.

I already have a domain name elsewhere. Can I use it?

Not with this offer: it includes the purchase of a new domain. If your current domain matters to you, write to us at contact@zerendi.cloud.

Is the domain in my name?

Yes. We buy it from Gandi, a French registrar, with you as the registrant. Gandi sends you an email to confirm your address: click its link within 15 days, otherwise the domain is suspended.

How long does the check take?

Usually a few minutes. If Iris has a doubt, a member of our team reviews the website and replies within 24 business hours. You receive the answer by email.

What if my website is rejected?

You receive the exact reasons. You can fix the website and send a new archive, or ask for a human review if you think the decision is a mistake. You only pay when you decide to: with an approved version, or with the “Coming soon” page if you'd rather secure the domain right away.

How do I update my website?

Simply send a new ZIP archive from your account. It is checked the same way; the previous version stays online until the new one is approved. Up to 10 analyses per day.

How does the business email work?

After payment, we create the contact@yourdomain address and send you a confirmation email. You then choose your own password in your account, and read your emails on the webmail, the Zoho Mail app or your usual email client.

What happens after one year?

Your order covers 12 months. We contact you before it ends about renewal.

Will my website's contact form work?

A static website cannot send emails on its own. Use an external form service (Formspree, Getform, Basin…) or a simple mailto link. If you'd prefer a turnkey website with a built-in form, Iris can create it for you.
